The general condition of Opposition Leader Alfred Sant continued to improve yesterday and “is very satisfactory”, surgeon Anthony Zammit said yesterday.

Dr Sant underwent a major operation on Thursday and is recovering at Mater Dei Hospital.

“Just like the days which followed the surgical intervention, there have been no complications. Yesterday morning Dr Sant expressed his desire to pass on a message of appreciation to the people of Malta and Gozo for the support and good wishes that were expressed in his regard,” Mr Zammit said.
