A 23-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman suffered injuries after the car they were in crashed into a wall and fell a height of two storeys in Xaghra, early yesterday morning.

The police said that at 3.45am, the car, driven by the 23-year-old from Victoria, went out of control in Ghejun Street, crashed into a wall and fell two storeys to a field below.

Civil Protection Department members freed the driver and the passenger, a 19-year-old from Xaghra.

Both were taken to the Gozo General Hospital where they were found to be suffering from injuries that fortunately did not put their life in danger.

The police are investigating.
