A half-day conference which will discuss the easing of administrative burdens, is being organised by the Ministry for Competitiveness and Communication in collaboration with the European Commission, to which all those interested in the subject are being invited.

It will be held in Qawra on 1 February from 9am. Attendance is free but applications need to be made by email to [email protected] or by phoning on 2388-6152 by 30 January.

The programme for the reduction of unnecessary administrative burdens is part of the government’s regulatory reform, aimed to reduce business costs.

The ministry has launched a consultation document to obtain the opinion of those directly affected by the burdens.

The “Consultation Document – Reduction of Administrative Burdens” is available on the ministry website www.mcmp.gov.mt

The consultation is aimed for businessmen by addressing their complaints and obtaining opinions which will lead to an easing of unnecessary administrative burdens and to help the government draw up more efficient legislation.
