The “Sliema” Band has issued a special double album compact disc of its Celebrity Concert for Europe, held at the Republic Hall of the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta, on Sunday 21 October. The CD includes several popular arias and classical songs interpreted by world-leading tenor Kaludi Kaludow, and several duettos together with soprano Karen Camilleri. Another major attraction is Paul Borg’s performance of Edward Gregson’s Concert for Tuba. The “Sliema” Band, conducted by Mro Ronnie Debattista FLCM performs Willy Hautvast’s Sinfonia Italiana and Hans Von Kliment’s Wiener Operettenklassiker with typical versatility and perfection, while the finale of the recording includes the encore by Kaludi of the famous song La strada del bosco and Cardenio Botti’s Inno Sliema.
