The Water Services Corporation has explained delays in completion of works being carried out in Triq Il-Karmnu and other streets in the Sacro Cuor area of Sliema, to upgrade the water distribution system.

Reasons for the delay in completion, the WSC said, include “unforeseen technical problems”, enforced stoppage by the local council over the festive season and quality-of-work issues with the contractor in question.

It added that works are at an advanced stage and “are expected to be finished by next week”.
