Court: Warden Acquitted of posing in the nude

Malta Independent Thursday, 31 January 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

A 25-year-old warden was acquitted by a Court of Criminal Appeals of offending public morals and decency after photographs of her in the nude were found by the police.

The Marsa woman was charged in court after the police had uncovered negative prints of her posing in the nude, topless or in lingerie at remote areas of Buskett and Maltese rocky beaches.

The police had uncovered the prints during a search at the property of a third person.

Mr Justice Joseph Galea Debono held that there was no indication of when the photos were taken. For sure, he said, the photos must have been taken after the woman passed through puberty.

He said that a person cannot be found guilty of a crime committed during her lifetime without pointing out when the crime was committed. Thus, he acquitted the warden of the charges brought against her.

Dr Joe Brincat appeared for the woman.
