Persons To serve as assistant electoral commissioners, counters, supervisors and calculators

The Electoral Commission notifies that it will receive applications from persons whose name appears in the October 2007 Electoral Register, to serve as Assistant Electoral Commissioners or to serve as counters, supervisors or calculators during the counting of votes in the forthcoming General and Local Councils’ elections.

Applicants will be expected to attend briefing sessions held by the Electoral Commission in due course.

Persons who are registered as voters in the localities of Valletta, Isla, Zebbug(M), Zejtun, Balzan, Dingli, Fontana, Ghajnsielem, Ghasri, Iklin, Kirkop, Marsa, Mellieha, Mqabba, Nadur, Pembroke, Qrendi, San Giljan, San Pawl il-Bahar, Santa Venera, Ta’ Xbiex, Xewkija and Zurrieq (where Local Councils’ elections are being held) cannot serve as Assistant Electoral Commissioners in any of these elections. They may, however, apply to serve during the counting of votes for localities or districts under which they are not registered as voters.

Applications will be received by the Electoral Commission at its Office, Evans Building St. Elmo Square, Valletta till today, and on Wednesday and Thursday at the Mediterranean Conference Centre (entrance from Mediterranean Street).

Persons residing in Gozo may apply at the Identity Cards Office, 28A, Pjazza San Frangisk, Victoria. Application forms, the only ones admissible, may be obtained from the Electoral Office from 2pm to 8pm.
