I will refer to the article Foreign interference, (Malcolm Mifsud, TMID, 2 February) and request that you publish this letter together with a reply by Dave Quayle, the person who was mentioned several times.

The Maltese Socialist members in the Committee of the Regions feel that Dr Mifsud was very unfair when he tried to minimise the participation of Dave Quayle, who was in Malta on behalf of the President of the Socialist Group in the Committee of the Regions.

Such comments were not only unfair, but were totally misleading, especially when they have been stated by Dr Mifsud, who is an alternate member in the Committee of the Regions. If Dr Mifsud wants to say the truth he should have declared that the Socialist Group in the Committee of the Regions is a large group and all the members give their full support to the Malta Labour Party. Dave Quayle is a very respected person who is not only a full Socialist Member but he has a very important role in representing the Socialist Group in various occasions.
