Rumpus On campus

Malta Independent Saturday, 23 February 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

A well pre-thought rehearsal by the well-known Diva! Well staged, but very badly managed.

I pity the moronic behaviour of some extras. Sorry, no Oscars. If anything an apology is more than appropriate for the shameful performance staged by some (hopefully) of our next generation of academics.

At times like these I truly feel pained to admit that I am Maltese.

No Oscars either for the editorial of this supposed to be independent newspaper. Instead of commenting on the fracas that went on the campus, the editor is actually asking the Labour administration to apologise for past mistakes… in all this… where does Alfred Sant come in?

The DNA remark by Charles Mangion was taken out of context and if the editor of this paper is going to make a song-and-dance about it then I am afraid he is in the wrong job.

I have voted in 13 general elections in the UK, where Conservatives, Labour and Liberal supporters walked to the polls together.

What did we talk about? In summer, cricket; in winter, football, over a pint of beer. When will we ever learn? How does this venom and hate spill out of these supposed-to-be well brought up and well educated people I will never know. I vote Labour, but I do not hate my next door neighbour, or part of my family, come to think of it. Please grow up.
