With Your vote say no to oppression and injustice

From Mr T. Agius

In this election campaign many proposals are being made that are aimed at achieving the well being of the Maltese community. This reflects a very positive attitude towards the human person in a holistic way. However, do these proposals extend to our society as a whole? It is a known fact that Malta is hosting a number of irregular immigrants and refugees.

These are people who depend solely on the mercy of others, are without a home, tend to be exploited, live as aliens among many who lack compassion, condemned to be outcasts, and feel lonely since friends and relatives are very far away.

While the troubled stories of these people may touch us and overwhelm us, new crises can leave us feeling powerless.

However, all those who lend a helping hand to these people can attest that face-to-face contact with irregular immigrants and refugees is inspiring. We cannot but be moved by their resilience and energy to overcome great disadvantages.

In the upcoming general election, your choice will either ease this anguish and oppression or support the unjust and inhuman policy Azzjoni Nazzjonali is adopting towards refugees and irregular immigrants.

Tonio Agius
