Visit To Tas-Simar

Malta Independent Sunday, 16 March 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Today, the Geography Teachers Association is organising a visit to the Tas-Simar nature reserve for its members and the general public. The meeting point will be near the kiosk in Xemxija, St Paul’s Bay, at 2.15pm.

The Tas-Simar nature reserve is one of the few remaining areas of saline marshland in Malta. It is near a busy road, but once inside the reserve, visitors forget all about the modern surroundings and admire the natural environment and the migratory birds that pay a visit at this time of the year.

This activity is specially recommended to students of geography and biology, who are welcome to attend.

In the event of uncertain weather, contact the secretary on 7940 9888.
