Insignificance Of hunters’ vote

Malta Independent Sunday, 16 March 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

From Mr J. Azzopardi

This election has proved conclusively that the much-touted hunters’ vote is totally insignificant and ineffective. It also proved that the declaration by the Malta Labour Party to re-open negotiations, if elected, presumably intended as a veiled attempt to woo the hunters’ vote, also failed. The MLP did not achieve any swing.

The issue of spring hunting is now irrefutably closed. The electorate now expects the newly elected government to declare itself in this regard and stop spring hunting forever. The government just elected owes it to the voters who have elected them.
