‘Xarabank’

Malta Independent Sunday, 23 March 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 17 years ago

The educated sector of the island is truly amazed at the constant display of bad manners shown in the programme.

With everybody talking at once, and with no heed paid to what the other is saying, the scenario leaves the televiewer quite dumbfounded. Many consider the subjects chosen tend to vulgarity, the political themes peppered with bias, visible in lack of manner and even verbally pronounced.

The national channel is to inform and to educate. Its purpose is certainly not to lower the tone, or foster bad blood. It should uplift society in every way and the cost purportedly involved, questioned by many, does not make the programme more edifying. A great improvement is called for.
