The Valletta Dramatic Company is presenting the operetta Il Paese dei Campanelli by Carlo Lombardo and Virgilio Ranzato adapted for the Maltese stage by Joe Brincat. It is being staged at the Manoel Theatre on Friday 11, and Saturday, 12 April at 7.30pm and a special performance on Sunday, 13 April at 5pm at a special reduced price.

Artistic director is Joe Izzo. George Micallef is playing the leading comic role while the part of the soubrette has been entrusted to actress and singer Laura Bruno. The tenor is Joseph Aquilina and the soprano Ruth Casingena. Other actors taking part are John Dimech, Mary Grech, Joe Attard, Inez Farrugia, Joe Cortis, Joe Micallef and Kevin Spiteri among others. A choir of 20 professional singers is also taking part.

The musical director is Archibald Mizzi while Lucienne Camilleri is in charge of the choreography.
