Twenty-five contestants will compete in Miss World Malta which is due to be held on 5 July, representing 22 different localities in Malta and Gozo.

Sue Rossi and Claudia Calleja from Modelle International will be responsible for organising this prestigious event.

Auditions started four months ago to choose the girls who eventually made it as finalists. It was important for all participants to have a good background of education and a pleasant personality.

Miss World Jersey Ltd, the organisers of Miss World pageant will only select the winner based on these criteria.

This year Modelle International will also be launching a charity event under the title of “Beauty with a Purpose”. Miss World is well known for helping worldwide children’s charities and Variety Clubs International. This concept was created by Julia Morley, Chairman of Miss World Jersey Ltd, 25 years ago. All monies raised from tickets sales or donations are entirely donated to help underprivileged and handicapped children.

All this year’s participants will be involved in taking part in this event later on during the month of June dedicated to “Puttinu Cares”.

Fotoclassic and stylist Marisa Grima prepared and photographed the finalists during a shoot at The Palace Hotel – the official sponsors for the programme D Search. All the finalists will be taking part in this programme presented by Claudia Calleja.

Chemimart group will once again be responsible for choosing the best makeup for the contestants. This year the product is Madina Milano, make-up that forms a creative link with the world of fashion and style. This brand is also designed to be high performing and creates the most extraordinary colour effect that will be used by make-up artist Shasha and her team. All photos taken during the preparations of the event and final night will also be made available.

Crool by J. Piccinino Ltd will provide different styles of swimwear during the filming and for the final night together with Amor of Hamrun who will be dressing the contestants for the programme.

Avandgarde and Hairoscope will be the official hairstylists for D Search using Divines hair products and Balmain hair extensions.

During the final night another different group of hairdressers will be responsible for the hairstyles.

Sterling Jewellers are the official sponsors for the Miss World Malta and the final night, and they will be crowning the winner with a prestigious handmade filigree crown with over 250 stones and a handmade sceptre.

The winner will be traveling to represent Malta in the final of Miss World which is being held in the Ukraine and which will include 120 other countries. The flight is sponsored by Lufthansa German Airlines.

Other sponsors who are supporting this event include Environ skin care, XFM, Charles Grech Ltd. and Alamango textiles.
