Michael Falzon Sets unity as priority

The Malta Labour Party is made up of people who are a single team, one family, said party leadership contestant Michael Falzon yesterday.

Dr Falzon toured Valletta and its market as well as a number of MLP clubs in the south of Malta, as part of his campaign for the party’s top post.

He said unity within the party’s organisations was at the top of his agenda. Dr Falzon stated that the MLP was made up of people who share common political beliefs and are ready to work together in order to share their beliefs with those who still do not.

The outgoing deputy leader said he believes wholeheartedly in the role of the numerous party clubs around the country and the local and district committees’ contribution towards the MLP. However, he held that there was more space for affinity between the party headquarters and the clubs scattered round the islands so as to make them feel closer to the party’s activity.

“Each and every club has its own importance and relevance, it is essential that even the smallest club feels an integral part of the MLP and its work,” said Dr Falzon.

Dr Falzon expressed his best wishes to all mothers on Mother’s Day, mentioning in particular his mother, Karmena, his wife and all mothers in Malta who, he said, make so many sacrifices to bring up their children.
