Famous Opera singers from Tuscany at Manoel Theatre

The Manoel Theatre, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Malta, has invited the artists and orchestra of the Puccini Festival Torre del Lago in Tuscany under the baton of Mro Valerio Galli together with soloists Elmira Veda, soprano, Alessandra Meozzi, soprano, tenor Fulvio Oberto and baritone Massimiliano Valleggi to participate in a gala concert at the Manoel Theatre tomorrow at 7.30pm.

The orchestra opens the evening with E. Tavan’s Fantasia Strumentale from Manon Lescaut to be followed by Puccini’s Donna Non Vidi Mai; Sola and Perduta, Abbandonata both arias from Manon Lescaut; Questo Amor from Edgar; O Mio Babbino Caro from Gianni Schicchi; Madama Butterfly’s Addio Fiorito Asil and Ora a Noi; Sedete Qui. The latter will conclude the first half of the evening’s programme.

The second half will open with E. Tavan’s Fantasia Strumentale from La Boheme. The second piece chosen for this evening’s memorable concert is O Mimi. Tu Piu Non Torni to be followed by Quando Me N’vo’ from the same opera La Boheme.

The programme will continue with Minnie, Dalla Mia Casa Son Partito from La Fanciulla Del West; E Lucevan Le Stelle from Tosca; Ah! Vittoria! Vittoria! from Gianni Schicchi; Tu Che Di Gel Sei Cinta from Turandot and the last piece will be Viene La Sera from Madama Butterfly.
