Reference is being made to an article entitled Sliema buildings classified as dangerous: Health Clinic moved, police station stays, written by Juan Ameen (TMID, 14 May).
Your statement that “the buildings housing the Sliema Police Station and the Sliema health clinic have been classified as dangerous and unsafe” is incorrect.
On 17 April the architect who called on site to inspect the roof of one of the rooms on the first floor, certified that a stone slab had dislodged and was threatening to fall down.
Since this room was above the health clinic it was advised that this office was to close. In the meantime, the place has been made temporarily safe until permanent structural works are carried out in the very near future.
