‘Notes From Portugal and Malta’

The Embassy of Portugal in Malta on Wednesday evening presented a concert of Portuguese and Maltese music for harpsichord and piano entitled ‘Notes from Portugal and Malta’, at the Church of St Catherine of Italy, in Valletta. The concert was attended by President Edward Fenech Adami, and Mrs Fenech Adami, as well as various local and foreign dignitaries.

The concert featured works for harpsichord and piano by noted Portuguese composers José António Carlos de Seixas and João Domingos Bontempo, as well as by Maltese contemporary composer Silvio Zammit, whose piece Toccata Fantasie was premiered during the concert. These were performed by renowned Maltese pianist Ramona Zammit Formosa and The St James Consort.
