CPD Kept busy with three fires in 24 hours

Members of the Civil Protection Department had a busy 24 hours when they were called to put out three fires – luckily no one was hurt.

At around 9.15pm on Wednesday, the police were informed that a fire broke out in the Foster Clarks factory in San Gwann industrial estate. The employees were evacuated and the CPD was called on site to put out the fire. No one was injured in the incident.

Duty Magistrate Audrey Demicoli appointed several experts to help her in the inquiry.

The CPD were also called to put out another fire in Blata l-Bajda where it was reported that several trees were aflame. No one was injured.

In the meantime, the police were informed early yesterday morning that a car was on fire in Naxxar. Once again, the fire was put out by the CPD and no one was injured in the incident.

Police are investigating.
