Maltese Company to assist with Beijing Olympics’ security

A Valletta-based security advisory company, RAM-BORNEO yesterday announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Beijing on the 19 May with CETC to provide specialist advisory services for the Beijing Olympics and the Shanghai Expo 2010.

The company is a joint venture between American company Ram International Ltd, a homeland security company established by the former bodyguards of President George W. Bush, and Bureau Securitas, the specialist security subsidiary of the Maltese mini-conglomerate British Borneo Holdings.

The delegation to China was led by Ron Cunningham, former commander of the SAS General Aldwin Wight, Head Security for Manchester United and the World Cup Mike Halligan and Project Manager Yiqian Ran.

The team gave a presentation to the China Information Technology Security Evaluation Centre and afterwards signed an MOU with CETC to provide specialist advisory services for the Olympics as well as the Shanghai Expo in 2010.

Under the terms of the MOU, CETC will position one of its key staff in British Borneo’s offices in Malta, to assist British Borneo in marketing the services of Chinese State Enterprises in the Mediterranean and North and Central Africa.

British Borneo CEO Shiv Shankaran Nair praised the unstinting support his team had from Maltese Ambassador in Beijing Karl Xuereb.
