The Labour Party would deserve to be in government as soon as possible if it conveyed a positive and inclusive message, and was close to the people, leadership contender Michael Falzon said.

The MLP needed to be open to all Maltese, young, middle-aged and elderly persons, and for every social state, including graduates and professional people. It needed to attract the country’s best brains and be relevant to everyone. All categories should be included, whether it was University students, graduates, businessmen or professional people.

The pluralism of ideas should be accepted and constructive criticism welcomed.

There should be an end to the mentality that two who did not agree were against each other.
