Marie Louis Coleiro Preca met Labour Party delegates from Gozo to discuss with them how the party could better organise itself. From what she had been told at various meetings, she said, it seemed the MLP needed to renew itself and strengthen its organisations in Gozo, mainly to improve communications between the party and its committee members and activists.

Ms Coleiro Preca, who is contesting the party’s leadership election, said that though committee members in Gozo lacked resources and encountered logistical difficulties, they carried out important work for the party in conveying its message.

The party’s activities in Gozo should be better thought out and planned, she said, which would make the party more effective. The party’s committees in Gozo should be the spur for the development of important activities.
