MLP’s Potential ‘has not been used’ – Muscat

If elected, his first act as leader would be to meet the other contestants for a decision about electing a party administration without delay. The MLP, he said, was rich in human resources and ideas. It has potential which has not been used.

He added that in the meetings he has been holding, he had promised one thing, which was to be a leader with a positive and winning mentality leading to the MLP opening the door to wide changes and new ideas. This would lead to a winning generation, he said.

Dr Muscat has also met representatives of the Association of Local Councils, where he said that if elected to the Labour Party’s leadership, he would ensure that the Labour Party would take a full and pro-active role in the discussions on the future of local government and its reform.

He said the association had an important role to play and should be represented on institutions such as Meusac, which the government is saying it would set up again as a forum about the European Union.
