Labour contestant for party leader Michael Falzon yesterday rounded up his electoral campaign with a promise to implement a programme with 14 proposals if he is elected within the first six months.

During a meeting in Zurrieq, Dr Falzon said that through these proposals, the Labour Party will embark on an internal reform that will strengthen its supporters.

These proposals include a new party statute, reaching out to new voters, setting up a policy unit and a political school, and internal reform of the party’s administration.

Dr Falzon also promised to put forward the Private Member’s Bill in Parliament that will ensure that the Nationalist government will compensate those who the court or ombudsman found were discriminated against because of their political beliefs.

The proposals also include changing the internal structure of the state television, asking the government for a list of institutional reforms including the Whistleblow-er’s Act and the MLP establishing the conditions for pairing in Parliament.
