A Hamrun man was yesterday given a suspended prison term after pleading guilty to damaging 11 vehicles purposely.

John Xerri, 37, originally from Australia, pleaded guilty to causing varying amounts of damage to 11 vehicles around Malta between 18 June 2007 and 9 June 2008.

The court took into account the accused’s guilty plea and handed down an 18-month prison term suspended for three years. Police inspectors Ramon Mercieca and Joseph Agius prosecuted while Dr Jose Herrera and Dr Veronique Dalli appeared for the accused.
