Labour leader Joseph Muscat will be addressing the Union Haddiema Maghqudin (UHM) general council on 30 June, union secretary general Gejtu Vella told this newspaper.

Mr Vella said the union already has a very good relationship with Dr Muscat, and as MEP, he has addressed the UHM general council before, but this time he will be doing so in his capacity as Labour leader.

“The union has congratulated Dr Muscat on his appointment and we invited him to address our forthcoming general conference. He accepted immediately and we deem this to be a very important signal,” said Mr Vella.

He said the UHM looks forward to strengthening the relationship with Dr Muscat and the MLP for the benefit of its members and the country at large.
