PN Confirms JPO removal from CoE delegation

The Malta Independent had exclusively reported, on 30 May, that Dr Pullicino Orlando would have been removed from the delegation.

Dr Pullicino Orlando, who is under a heavy cloud in connection with the Mistra land deal, has been given membership of the two-strong delegation to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. The other member is David Agius.

The delegation to the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe is made up of Louis Deguara and Frederick Azzopardi.

The Speaker is president of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, with the Prime Minister and Opposition Leader as vice-presidents. Michael Gonzi is member, and Philip Mifsud substitute member.

The delegation to the Council of Europe is now made up of Frans Agius, as member and delegation leader, Robert Arrigo as member, and Joseph Falzon and Dolores Cristina as substitute members.

Censu Galea is member and delegation leader for the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly. Jean Pierre Farrugia is member, and Ninu Zammit and Edwin Vassallo substitute members.

The delegation for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean is made up of Jesmond Mugliett, member and head of delegation, Louis Deguara and Franco Debono as members, and Stephen Spiteri as substitute member.

The Permanent Committee about Development Planning is made up of the Prime Minister, who is responsible for development planning, as chairman, and Franco Debono and Joe Falzon.

The parliamentary group also voted for the 13 MPs who, apart from the right of attending PN executive meetings, will also have the vote. These are: David Agius, Frederick Azzopardi, Charlò Bonnici, Dolores Cristina, Mario de Marco, Giovanna Debono, Joseph Falzon, Jean Pierre Farrugia, Beppe Fenech Adami, Michael Gonzi, Clyde Puli, Chris Said and Edwin Vassallo.

The Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister also have the right ex ufficio to vote in the PN executive.
