The Marsovin Summer Wine Festival

Malta Independent Sunday, 6 July 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

On Friday, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi opened the Marsovin Summer Wine Festival at Hastings Gardens in Valletta.

The festival is being held over a three-day period, ending today. Marsovin’s Jeremy Cassar said that the aim of the festival is not only to promote genuine Maltese DOK wines but also to promote the culture of art, wine and food together.

During the event, visitors will be able to taste a variety of DOK and IGT wines from both Maltese and Gozitan vineyards accompanied by a whole selection of Mediterranean cuisine from Morocco, Malta, Italy and Spain, prepared by the expert chefs of the Corinthia.

Another aim of the event is to promote safe drinking within reasonable limits, and for this reason Marsovin had decided to discontinue the open bar philosophy of pay one admission fee and drink as much wine as you like. As members of The Sense Group, said Mr Cassar, the company is obliged to promote responsible drinking, especially during its own events.
