Lands Department officials and others from the Malta Tourism Authority, together with the police and Works Department employees were reported yesterday to have conducted an enforcement operation against catering establishments in Xlendi and Marsalforn.

The Gozo Tourism Association complained that the way the operation was conducted was not proper, even if only because of the time chosen, which was from around 7pm.

It said the establishments had been advised in June that there would be enforcement of regulations but the way it was carried out was “unethical”.
