Malta Independent Tuesday, 22 July 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 17 years ago

Leigh-Anne Abela will be conducting a series of theatre workshops entitled “Theatre On The Move”. The workshops will be held on Saturdays in several inspiring outdoor locations across Malta as from August 2 till September 13.

Participants aged 16 and over are invited to apply and explore space in different dimensions. The use of voice, body movement, sounds, skills and characterisation will be applied and devised in day-to-day situations that happen to pass one by in life.

Leigh-Anne Abela who is currently reading a degree in Contemporary Theatre in the UK is back for her summer holidays. During

this time she will be sharing her theatrical knowledge and experiences with anyone who wants more than just an ordinary

summer.

She plans to kick start these sessions in the early morning hours venturing different sites and sceneries. This will prove inspiring across the shores of the blue sea, the bustle of the city and the hush of the country.

Another extensive 12-session programme entitled “Workshops on Devising Plays, Voice and Movement (Laban Technique)” will delve into voice, physical work, movement influenced by Laban’s work, characterisation and self-devising plays.

Thus if one is a public speaker, an individual or a group who would like to create or devise something innovative, a performer or student who would like to brush up his / her technique and interpretation on any particular work phone on 9944-5674 or email [email protected] to fix an appointment.
