Local side Marsaxlokk suffered a heavy away 4-0 defeat against Slaven Belupa as their strong opponents scored three goals in the final 18 minutes. Belupa lead through a Mario Bilen goal on 25 minutes after Marsaxlokk keeper Darmanin had partially saved a previous shot.

Marsaxlokk’s hopes of obtaining a respectable result were dashed on 72 minutes. Connecting on a cross from the right, Kristijan Caval ran past Licari and scored with a rising shot at top corner. Two minutes later the same player made it 3-0 for Belupa after rounding keeper Darmanin and slotting the ball into an empty goal.

Marsaxlokk suffered further derision just before the final whistle. Their defence held out two Belupa efforts, but the final rebound fell to Bojan Vrucina wjho scored from close range.

Belupa advanced to the second on an 8-0 aggregate.
