The owner of two fish farms yesterday filed a libel suit against MaltaToday editor Saviour Balzan and journalist Raphael Vassallo over two articles, claiming they were libellous.

The writ was filed by Charles Azzopardi on behalf of Azzopardi Fisheries Ltd and AJD Tuna Ltd against MaltaToday editor Saviour Balzan and Mr Vassallo.

In the writ, Mr Azzopardi claimed that the article written by Mr Vassallo that was published on 28 June titled Cheeky Azzopardi fishes for compensation was libellous.

He also said that another article that appeared on 28 May titled Fishy Business was libellous.

The libel requested the court to order Mr Balzan and Mr Vassallo to pay damages.

Dr John Refalo signed the writ.
