Two men are to be charged in court on drug related charges after separate finds on Monday and Tuesday, the police said yesterday.

A man from Zejtun was arrested on Monday after he was found to be in possession of 13 sachets of cocaine and nine packets of heroin at Qajjenza, limits of Birzebbuga.

On Tuesday, members of the police Anti-Drug Squad, assisted by Customs Department officers stopped various passengers who had just arrived on a flight from Tripoli.

A Libyan passenger was acting suspiciously and although initial searches did not reveal anything, X-rays taken later led to the discovery of 10 capsules containing 100 grammes of heroin in his stomach. The 24-year-old man was arrested.

Magistrate Edwina Grima is conducting an inquiry.
