Legendary Brazilian Footballer Aldair meets Roma fans in Malta

During a short visit to Malta, former Roma stalwart, Brazilian international footballer, Aldair Nascimento Dos Santos paid a visit to the Roma Club Malta. Aldair got to know about Roma Club Malta through the Roman media which have the highest praise for this club.

The 1994 World Cup winner was truly impressed with the warm and wonderful welcome he received from about 50 Roma fans present. Some Italian and Brazilian football followers also attended.

In a brief speech, for this emotional occasion, Roma Club Malta president Ray Sant described Aldair as one of the world class players ever to wear a Roma shirt.

One of the greatest defenders of all time, as described by Sant, Aldair spent the most part of his career with Roma, making the first of his 415 appearances for the club in 1990. Roma even retiring his No. 6 jersey when he left the club in 2003.

On behalf of those president, the Roma Club Malta president wished Aldair well for the future. On a personal note, Sant also expressed his wish of seeing Aldair forming part of the Roma administration in the near future. To which comment, the Brazilian uttered only, “Perhaps!”

Also present for this memorable evening, were Manuela De Conciliis (regular contributor for Deja Roma, the official Roma Club Malta publication), Dr Kevin Deguara (the former Msida St Joseph president), Steve Abela (Sliema Wanderers president) and Miss World Malta Martha Fenech.
