The world’s largest cooking pot (maxi pentolone in Italian) is being brought over from Italy and will feature in this week’s Birgufest at Vittoriosa.
On 18 June 1998 the pot entered the Guinness Book of Records with a Risotto and Luganiga that fed 5,000 people.
On Friday, the cooking pot will be set up in Victory Square, Vittoriosa’s main square, and helpings of risotto will be sold at e3 per portion, e2 of which will go to Dar tal-Providenza.
The annual, popular ‘Birgu by Candlelight’ starts on Saturday at 7pm, while no less than five re-enactments will be staged in various parts of the town from Friday till Sunday
