The police arrested four people, three men and one woman, and confiscated almost eight kilogrammes of cannabis resin and €65, 000 in cash.
The Vice Squad, made the arrests after a week of surveillance, carefully followed a number of people and noted that the drugs were going to change hands on Sunday afternoon in Sliema.
Following a search, the police found almost eight kilogrammes of cannabis resin in two cars and
confiscated almost €65,000 from a house in Sliema, a car and on the suspects. A small amount of cocaine was also found.
Three men were arrested, two from Sliema, aged 37 and 64 along with a 32-year-old man from Birkirkara. A 26-year-old woman from Mosta was also arrested.
Duty Magistrate Doreen Clarke appointed several experts to help her in the inquiry.
Police are investigated and several people are expected to be arraigned in court in the next few days.
