A Libyan man was jailed for one year and fined a total of e1,365 after he pleaded guilty to a number of traffic-related charges over a span of two years.
In ten separate judgements, magistrate Saviour Demicoli heard Abdulsalem Hamed plead guilty to a number of charges which include driving without a licence and without insurance, placing a "for sale" sign in a car and not informing the Malta Transport Authority of the change in owner of a vehicle.
He also pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle when his driving licence was suspended following a court order, breaching the conditions imposed in a previous court judgement and threatening a police man.
Hamed also pleaded guilty to breaching the peace, being indecently dressed while driving and littering in a public area when he threw away a cigarette butt.
The court jailed him for one year, handed down a suspended sentence and fined him a total of e1,365.
