My wife and I look forward to a leisurely Sunday breakfast with our excellent Malta newspapers. Recently, we have been very disappointed by the contributions of your once highly respected correspondent Daphne Caruana Galizia.

What has caused the descent from good journalism and stylish writing into the depths of strident vulgarity and obnoxious rhetoric? This sad turn is more than puzzling.

Perhaps, Sir, you could have a quiet word and restore sanity and equilibrium.

One understands that all editors have their crosses to bear. The Sunday Times has its John Micallef spouting an endless torrent of rubbish in his Roamer column and, one supposes, you have to put up with your Daphne in the interest of “live and let live”. Oh well!!
