With reference to Dr Josie Muscat’s article with the above title (TMIS, 22 February), may I point out that PSD promote values of self-respect, informed decisions, healthy lifestyles, responsible behaviour and responsibility towards the community (national PSD syllabus).
However, it fights against media programmes our children and adolescents are exposed to. Unless the media – be it fictitious or discussion programmes – takes responsibility for and truly understands what it is promoting, instead of preferring sensationalism, PSD remains a mere drop in the ocean.
Could it be a case of Dr Muscat shooting the messenger instead of reading the message?
