The Suncrest Hotel has announced the appointment of Joseph Vella as the new hotel general manager.

Mr Vella, who will be overseeing the hotel’s operations, brings with him extensive experience in the hospitality industry. In the past 12 years he held senior posts in major hotel resorts in Malta, making his expertise in all areas of resort operations and sales and marketing a valuable addition to the hotel.

Following extensive refurbishment works in recent years Mr Vella’s demanding task will ensure the continuation of excellent service and impeccable standards. His brief also involves the consolidation of the efforts to strengthen the hotel’s concept of vacations ownership while focussing on directing staff to ensure the targets set are reached while constantly improving guest satisfaction levels.

Ms Claire Zammit Xuereb, hospitality director, AX Holdings, said: “The forthcoming season is of great importance and at this stage Mr Vella’s input will be invaluable. He was very eager to form part of this group and to work hand in hand with all stake holders even in these trying times. He has also expressed his interest in collaborating with all authorities involved to help improve the Qawra/Bugibba area which needs attention. I am certain Mr Vella’s input will be invaluable to ensure the continuous development of broader strategic initiatives.”
