BDO Sliema Hotsticks 0

H.T. 1-0

Umpires: Reno Cremona; Edward Hughes

This was a thoroughly one way affair and the score could have had double figure proportions had it not been for the amount of misses in front of goal by the Rabat forwards.

Rabat immediately took control of proceedings and by the third minute were already one up, when Jason Vella was brought down in the area by goalkeeper Mallia and from the penalty spot James Azzopardi made no mistake.

Between the 9th and the 28th minute, Rabat had three glaring scoring chances, however the closest was a hit by Josef Antonelli coming off the upright.

Play in the second half kept the same pattern. On the 45th Rabat doubled when after some good work by Kevin Micallef, Mario Galea had no difficulty in beating Mallia from close range.

Rabat insisted and added two further goals. Jason Vella deflected the ball past Mallia, from an Antonelli hit and Kevin Micallef hit the ball home from a short corner action.

Should Rabat beat White Hart tomorrow, they will then move to within two points leaders Qormi. Both sides will meet each other for a showdown on 15 March.
