The Broadcasting Authority, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by Part III of the Broadcasting Act, has granted a license to Calypso Media Communications Ltd to provide a digital terrestrial television broadcasting service.

This new broadcasting service shall be known as “Calypso Music Television” and the license, which has come into force on 21 April, shall initially be valid until 20 April, 2010. The channel will broadcast exclusively on the GO network, Channel number 107.

This is the first television license to be issued by the Broadcasting Authority this year. Last year, two television licences were issued to Family Television Network and Favourite Channel.
