The GRTU, Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises, said the government should no longer delay the issue of exemptions to the eco contribution mechanism for producers of waste packaging. It said it has worked hard to make sure that eco contribution refunds can become a reality.

The situation has involved drawn out talks with the government, mainly the ministries of finance and of resources and rural affairs, and the Office of the Prime Minister.

In the current economic slowdown the refund mechanism, the GRTU said, is a must for businesses.
