A parliamentary delegation led by David Agius and comprising Chris Agius and Roderick Galdes, has returned from Guernsey where they attended the 40th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference of the British Islands and Mediterranean Region.

The Conference brought together delegates from Alderney, Cyprus, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, Malta, Northern Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, Canada, India and Jamaica.

During the annual general meeting of the region a Communiqué was presented by Malta and agreed to by all the delegates on the impact of illegal immigration in the context of the current economic downturn.
