I would like to thank Peter Gingell, on behalf of Mepa Communications Office, for the information provided (TMIS, 5 July) following my article about the work being carried out by the Kummissjoni Ambjent of the Church in our islands (TMIS, 28 June).

Mr Gingell’s update regarding developments in the Qala, Gozo case referred to in the communiqué issued by the Kummissjoni Ambjent and reproduced in my article is greatly appreciated.

I am also glad to note that Mepa thanked publicly the Kummissjoni Ambjent and other similar and sincere NGOs “…that work tirelessly in the environmental field for their sound contributions, participation and efforts in helping bring about a change to the way we as a nation

perceive and respect our

environment.”
