Air Malta is supporting the Anglo-Maltese pop princess Sophie in her 2009 Friendship Tour during which she will be promoting her latest single K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid).

In the true spirit of the Maltese islands, Sophie will be visiting various European capital cities to promote her latest releases. She will also be meeting Air Malta’s customers and staff at many of Air Malta’s European gateways.

Sophie is currently making huge waves in the international pop arena with her first single The Clapping Song going straight to the top of the Music News Malta People’s Music Chart and staying there for three consecutive weeks. This single was also launched in the United Kingdom last June and is already receiving considerable radio airplay. It is currently at No.10 in 14 different countries around the world, in the Ex-Pats Music Chart.

Her website (www.totallysophie.com) is now attracting people interested in the music industry from all over the World. Commenting about her relationship with Malta Sophie says: “Malta and Gozo are two of the friendliest places on earth, as visitors to our islands quickly discover. I’m going on my first ever tour to obviously promote my record, but also to extend the hand of Maltese friendship to all my new fans across Europe. That’s why I’ve teamed-up with Air Malta, our national carrier, which totally embodies the spirit of Malta and the spirit of friendship.”

Commenting about this collaboration, Brian Bartolo, general manager marketing and product said: “Air Malta is pleased to be associated with Sophie and to join her on her 2009 Friendship Tour. We believe that Sophie has a lot of potential and with our assistance she will be able to promote her music far and beyond the Maltese shores. We augur every success to Sophie during her tour and in the years to come.”
