Xtruppaw Live in concert

Malta Independent Friday, 11 September 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The band Xtruppaw will be playing live in concert at Buskett roadhouse tomorrow.

BNI and DJ Fre will support Xtruppaw’s act.

Xtruppaw is a Maltese band composed of five members, who play a concoction of musical styles varying from punk rock, 80’s metal, Maltese Ghana, to country and western! The origins of the band’s name are a very well guarded secret, which has led to a copious amount of speculation.

The truly distinguishing features of the band’s music are the lyrics. Xtruppaw’s songs are all, without exception, sung in Maltese and they emphasise on the funny side of life and Maltese society. They draw a picture of Maltese life, zooming in to the raw and crude perspective of the mundane, pointing out the absurdities that we all take for granted with a tongue-in-cheek and often irreverent approach.

The band has been busy writing new songs for their forthcoming second album, which will be recorded and released in the near future. They are now preparing a number of live performances to build up to the launch of this new CD, with the next of these events being their live concert at Buskett roadhouse. This is planned to be a big event, which fans will surely not want to miss.

The event will be held in the open air but will be shifted to indoors in case of bad weather. e8 tickets are available from www.maltaticket.com, Exotique, Vodafone, Agenda bookshop, Bookends and Newskiosk. e10 tickets will be available on the door.
