Labour MP Carmelo Abela, party spokesman for industry and foreign investment, paid a visit to Magro Brothers, the Gozitan company which is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its Three Hills brand of tomato paste. He wished the company well.

The Labour Party said he and John Magro discussed the international recession and the situation in Malta, with Mr Abela assuring Mr Magro that the Labour Party was following developments and being prudent in the circumstances. He said the government was not only not doing enough in the circumstances, but they could say they have a Maltese crisis.
