A Libyan man was yesterday accused of corrupting a 12-year-old girl.
Yousa Agouri, who resides in Siggiewi, was accused before magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera of offending public morals, corrupting the girl and trying to take advantage of her in a public place. He was also accused of driving recklessly in a one-way street.
Police inspectors Raymond Aquilina and Carlos Cordina, who led prosecution, said there was no physical contact between Mr Agouri and the girl.
He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of e5,000. Lawyer Joe Brincat appeared for the accused.
